Who says raising money for a good cause has to be a dreaded chore? The Central Oregon Home Health and Hospice SkiOut is one of the most talked about and exciting events of the year. The “Ski Out,” held at Mt. Bachelor in the spring of each year, is an alpine ski and snowboard race followed by an incredible awards party. This one-of-a-kind event works with a five-member team, competing for prizes and raising funds for COHHH.
In 2007, the residents of Central Oregon showed their passion for powder and compassion for community by participating in the 2nd Annual Ski Out. The awards party at the Athletic Club of Bend was a great success. Joe’s was our title sponsor and donated a mountain bike and many other prizes to the top finishers of the race.
Future SkiOut fundraisers promise to be even bigger and better. Since the race is formatted to reward consistency, not speed, all ages and abilities are welcome to participate in the fun. Professional coaches will again be available for tips and advice during the event.
As the not-for-profit beneficiary of this event, COHHH will use the funds raised for additional in-home continuous-care projects, such as developing our new pediatric division and providing hospice patients with a special last wish.
