Volunteers are the heart of the care team at COHHH, working with our professional staff to enhance the quality of life for both patient and family. Every volunteer has the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our patients and families.
Hospice Volunteers
We offer different levels of participation, ensuring that you will find a volunteer activity that fits your skills and desired. Level 1 Volunteers help by doing fundraising, minor home repairs, errands, yard work and other odd jobs, without having any direct patient contact.
Level 2 Volunteers perform administrative support tasks, including preparing admission packets, entering patient data and assisting in organization of special events. Level 2 volunteers also have no direct patient contact.
Level 3 Volunteers are Patient/Family Support Volunteers providing emotional support, home visits, respite and companionship to patients and their families.
Level 4 Volunteers receive additional training that will enable them to serve as bereavement companions or grief support group facilitators for bereaved family members.
Transitions Volunteer
Level 1, 2 and 3 Volunteers may also serve in various capacities as Transitions Volunteers. Click Here for our Transitions Program.
