For home health services to be covered, the following criteria must be met:  
  • A physician must order home health services
  • The patient must have a skilled nursing or therapy service needed
  • The patient must be “homebound.” This does not mean the patient must be bedridden or totally unable to leave the home. Homebound simply means the patient must have a “normal inability” to leave home
