Inevitable as it may be, no one is ever really prepared for the emotional anguish and painful finality brought on by the death of a close relative or loved one. That’s why there’s no end to the compassionate comfort Central Oregon Home Health and Hospice (COHHH) delivers to those in need of bereavement. We’re at our best when you need us most.
We offer many resources to help patients, families and friends in Central Oregon cope with grief and loss, all completely free of charge:
- Individual contact and counseling
- Support groups and social support gatherings
- Annual memorial ceremonies
- Grief education presentations
Participants choose their own level of support. All conversations with COHHH bereavement counselors are strictly confidential. If requested, our support program continues for up to 13 months after the death of a loved one. |

COHHH offers support groups throughout Central Oregon. Our counselors assist families in crisis and help identify resources in the community for longer-term support. Regularly scheduled support groups include:
- Sharing Hearts, a monthly brown bag lunch in the Bend area for those who have lost a spouse.
- CommuniTea is a monthly tea in Bend and Redmond for men and women grieving the death of a loved one.

Since death can be exceptionally difficult for young people, COHHH has experts on staff in children’s bereavement who can work with kids and their parents to understand the special effects of grief and bereavement on the young. We work closely with school counselors and provide in-school bereavement services for individuals or groups who are grieving the loss of a parent, sibling, friend, relative or teacher through illness, accident, suicide or homicide. |

To help all family members survive the emotional challenges of the holidays, we hold special programs that offer support and opportunities to honor loved ones who have died. These programs are open to the public in various locations in Central Oregon.
